Meiji Modern: Fifty Years of New Japan
NEW YORK, October 3, 2023 — In support of Asia Society Museum’s latest exhibition Meiji Modern: Fifty Years of New Japan, Meiji Scholar and British Museum curator Dr. Rosina Buckland delivers a talk on her current research on Meiji art, providing a background for the current exhibition. Meiji Modern: Fifty Years of New Japan is organized by the Japanese Art Society of America (JASA) in celebration of its fiftieth anniversary. The special exhibition showcases some of the most exceptional Meiji-period art pieces found in American public and private collections.
