October 22, 2020 — Asia Society Northern California hosted an appreciation event for sponsors and supporters with former Asia Game Changer West honorees prior to the global screening of the 2020 Asia Game Changer Awards. In this video, Asia Society Northern California Chair Ken Wilcox and Director of Partnerships Palarp Jumpasut give opening remarks and Michael Chui, partner at McKinsey Global Institute and a Asia Society Northern California board member, moderate a panel discussion with Game Changer West honorees from 2019 and 2020. These include Nanxi Liu, co-founder of Enplug and Nanoly Bioscience; Kiki Kapany, CEO of Kikim Media (speaking on behalf of Dr. Narinder Kapany); Roya Mahboob, Afghan Girls Robotics Team; Roopam Sharma, inventor of Manovue; and Dr. Sam So, Stanford Liver Center. The program concluded with a presentation from multimedia artist Yang Yongliang, who spoke about his piece "Whispering Pines in the Mountains" moderated by Jay Xu, director and CEO of the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco and Asia Society Northern California board member.
