Lunar New Year 2021: A Virtual Celebration
UPDATE (February 22, 2021): Due to last week's power outages in Houston and across Texas, we have rescheduled content and activities originally planned for February 19 in order to expand our final weekend of virtual Lunar New Year activities. Thank you for joining us!

2021 is the Year of the Ox, considered an honest, dependable, and determined animal representing patience and achieving goals through consistent effort. Join Asia Society Texas Center in virtually welcoming the Year of the Ox with performances, art and craft activities, and food inspired by Lunar New Year traditions across Asia!
Our two weeks of celebrations will feature new online content released on February 12–13, 19, and 26. Activities include learning how to make dumplings, making an Ox hat, viewing dance and musical performances, and watching a traditional lion dance.
The virtual festival is FREE and open to the public, and all are welcome to participate and engage as a wider community.

Lunar New Year At-Home Kit

Purchase our fun Activity Kits for convenient access to all the supplies you'll need for the full two weeks of crafts and activities! Kits include:
- Craft materials for Lunar New Year activities
- Red envelope
- Stuffed Ox
- Handkerchief or Fan for an interactive dance
- 2021 calendar
- Various Asian snacks
- Plus a couple of surprises!
Activity Kits are $25 each. Available while supplies last and for local pickup only. Kits purchased online can be picked up at Asia Society Texas Center starting Friday, February 5.
