Join the Indian Film Festival of Houston and Asia Society Texas in celebrating the cinematic voices of India and the Diaspora with a fresh lineup of feature films, documentaries, and shorts! Films will screen on Friday and Saturday. Tickets are available for individual screenings; the purchase of a day pass includes access to the full day's films, a reception, and music performance.

In this follow-up to Praveen Morchhale’s award-winning film Walking with the Wind, the director revisits the Himalayan mountain villages where he shot the film. He meets and observes the villagers' lives and invites them to a screening of the film at the Himalayan Film Festival where some of them experience cinema for the first time in their life.

In order to survive, a single mother changes her identity to get a job as household help. Her new workplace is in the home of a young married couple where the wife is unexpectedly pregnant. The two women forge a deep connection, sharing their personal experiences, but their relationship is tested due to a significant misunderstanding.

Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore’s timeless “Kabuliwala” is the story of a middle-aged Afghan man, Rahmat, whose heart overflows with fatherly love for a little girl, Mini. Set in Kolkata in 1965, the film adaptation captures the period, the story’s heartwarming relationships, and the deep significance of a love that transcends borders, religions, and cultures.

The Indian Film Festival of Houston (IFFH) Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to education in the fields of film and television and in creating a greater appreciation of Indian cinema and culture by showcasing quality films that honor entertainment industry performers and film makers while promoting the diverse perspectives of the Indian Diaspora through an annual event.
