Asia Society is delighted to host His Excellency Hamdullah Mohib, National Security Advisor of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, for an address and a discussion with Josette Sheeran, President and CEO of the Asia Society.
Speakers
H.E. Hamdullah Mohib is the National Security Advisor of Afghanistan. Previously, he served as the Afghan Ambassador to the U.S. from 2015-2018. Prior to becoming Ambassador to the U.S., he was deputy chief of staff to Afghan President. Among his many duties in the position, he led the presidential negotiating team for several intergovernmental cooperation agreements and the formulation of Afghanistan’s national development “Realizing Self-Reliance” reform strategy.
Josette Sheeran is President and CEO of the Asia Society, and also serves as the UN Special Envoy to Haiti. She is former vice chair of the World Economic Forum, and Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme. She served as a diplomat and negotiator for the United States, including as U.S. Under Secretary of State for Economic, Business, and Agricultural Affairs, and as Deputy U.S. Trade Representative.
