China's Peaceful Development and the International Environment

Fu Ying was appointed Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in 2009, after serving as the Chinese Ambassador to the United Kingdom from 2007 to 2009. Previously, she was the Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia and Australia from 1998 to 2000 and from 2006 to 2009 respectively. Fu joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1978 and completed her advanced studies at Kent University in the UK in 1986. As the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, her areas of responsibility include Europe, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan-related foreign affairs as well as translation and interpretation.
