July 30, 2021 — Asia Society Northern California presents two sessions from its second Education Summit, held on July 29-30, 2021 on the theme The Future of Education: Teaching for Global Understanding. In the first session, middle and high school students Cooper Hong, Shubh Doshi, Maxwell Wong, and Harita Kalvai share their experiences with an AAPI Youth Rising rally that took place in May 2021 in Berkeley, California, in a conversation moderated by Asia Society Northern California Executive Director Margaret Conley. In the second session, Aries Wang, co-founder and education content specialist at Polydott; and Katie Lin, education content specialist at Polydott talk with Conley about their project Asian Kids Pride, which features online bilingual educational content meant to help initiate conversations between students, educators, and their families about race, heritage, and culture.
