On Thursday, October 26, 2017, ASPI President Kevin Rudd gave an address and participated in an panel discussion on China's rise at La Trobe University, in Melbourne, Australia. He discussed Chinese President Xi Jinping's consolidation of power, Xi's vision for China in the Asia-Pacific region, and how Australia should approach China. He was joined in the panel discussion by Linda Jakobson, the CEO and Founding Director of China Matters, and Nick Bisley, the Executive Director of La Trobe Asia and Professor of International Relations.
