About Ambassador Cui Tiankai
Ambassador Cui Tiankai assumed office as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the United States of America in April 2013. Prior to his post he served as Vice Minister for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2009-2013, and Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Japan from 2007-2009.
Ambassador Cui has served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1984, when he first began his diplomatic career as an attaché in the Department of International Organizations and Conferences.
Ambassador Cui completed his undergraduate at Shanghai Normal University and did post graduate work at both Beijing Institute of Foreign Languages and John Hopkins University.
