As the Internet and social networking have grown over the last decade, so too has the ability to disseminate ideas and reach new audiences. Uploaded: The Asian American Movement examines how young Asian Americans have used new media to spread their acting, comedy, filmmaking, and music to followers around the world.
Clements High School (Sugar Land, Texas) graduate Kevin Wu, better known by his YouTube moniker KevJumba, stars with Christine Gambito, Parry Shen, Mike Song, and Freddie Wong. In addition to a demonstration of their talents, the actors discuss a generation’s actions to debunk stereotypes and develop a new perception of Asian Americans.
Asia Society Texas Center is proud to present the Texas premiere of this documentary looking at creative expression in the Asian American community.
