The Greater Houston Partnership, in collaboration with The Royal Thai Embassy, The Consulate General of the Kingdom of Thailand in Houston, and Asia Society Texas Center, cordially invites you to a breakfast program featuring His Excellency Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the United States.
Ambassador Isarabhakdi seeks to advance the political, economic, and cultural relations between Thailand and the U.S. He joined the US Embassy on December 3, 2013, having previously served in the Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C. as First Secretary from 1994 to 1998 and Second Secretary from 1993 to 1994. Ambassador Isarabhakdi also served in various postings with the Secretariat of the Prime Minister, including Minister (2005-2006), Minister-Counselor (2003-2005), and Counselor (2001-2003), as well as in the Office of the Secretary to the Minister, including Counselor (2000-2001) and First Secretary (1998-2000).
Houston has extensive business and cultural connections with Thailand and approximately 400 Houston companies report sharing business or trade ties with the region. In 2013, total annual trade between Houston and Thailand valued at nearly $658.3 million and has continued to increase at a compound annual growth rate of 6.2 percent from 2002 to 2013.
