After your Thanksgiving feast and Black Friday shopping, join us at Asia Society Texas Center to learn about a beloved Japanese food: sushi. Jiro Dreams of Sushi tells the story of Jiro Ono, considered by culinary experts to be the world’s greatest sushi chef. He runs Sukiyabashi Jiro, a 10-seat, sushi-only establishment located in a Tokyo subway station. Despite its inauspicious environment and small staff, it is the first restaurant of its kind to receive the renowned 3 star Michelin review. Amidst this celebration of nigiri and sushi’s many variations, lies the relationship between Jiro and his eldest son Yoshikazu, heir to the family business and a storied sushi legacy.
