ASIA SOCIETY
GALA 50TH ANNIVERSARY DINNER Thursday, February 23, 2006
John. D. Rockefeller 3rd founded Asia Society in 1956 with the idea of educating Americans about Asia. At that time he was thought to be a visionary. Fifty years later, the Society fulfills its mandate by providing high quality, impactful, multidisciplinary programs designed to generate new ideas and foster creative thinking across the fields of policy, culture, social issues, business, and the arts.
At this festive dinner to launch our anniversary year celebration, we honored the Rockefeller family, in particular David Rockefeller and Senator John D. (“Jay”) Rockefeller IV, the brother and son, respectively, of our founder. Special musical entertainment throughout the evening and distinguished guests of honor marked this event as a celebration apart from traditional annual dinners.
We invite you to join us as we celebrate the richness and vitality of the Rockefeller legacy and move forward to face the challenges of the new “Asian Century.” More on the 50th Anniversary...
