Renowned Activist, Author, and Oprah Guest Dr. Tererai Trent to Headline Asia Society's Partnership for Global Learning Conference
Asia Society is excited to announce that Dr. Tererai Trent will keynote the opening plenary at the Partnership for Global Learning Conference, June 27-28, 2014, at the Brooklyn Bridge Marriott Hotel in New York City. Dr. Trent is a world renowned activist, author, and speaker about education and equity around the globe. Her extraordinary life journey began with an impoverished childhood in northern Zimbabwe, which has been recounted by Nicholas Kristof and Oprah — who refers to Dr. Trent as “her favorite guest of all time.”
Additional speakers include: Marc Chun, program officer at the Hewlett Foundation; Catheryn Berger Kaye, expert on service learning; Homa Tavanger, author of Global Education Toolkit for Elementary Learners; and Brandon Wiley, Executive Director of the International Studies Schools Network (ISSN) at Asia Society.
The Partnership for Global Learning Conference is the premiere conference dedicated to the teaching and learning of global competency. Last year, over 500 participants from across K-12 education came together to network and share best practices.
