Mapping the Global Future

Building on the success of the NIC’s Global Trends 2015, the Asia Society worked with the National Intelligence Council on the Asia portion of the 2020 program and report. This new initiative attempts to identify the drivers shaping the world out to the year 2020, and to imagine how these drivers might interact to produce fundamental change. This yearlong unclassified project, which concluded in December 2004, is closely tied to the NIC’s mission-to serve as a center within the US Government for mid- and long-term strategic thinking, and to advise policy makers on potentially important future developments.
