UNITED AIRLINES BECOMES A LEADING
WORLDWIDE SPONSOR OF THE ASIA SOCIETY

Sponsorship offers numerous cross-promotional benefits for
Asia Society members and United customers

Chicago, April 19, 2004 - United Airlines and the Asia Society today announced that United has become the “Preferred Airline of the Asia Society” through its major sponsorship of the Society’s 2004 season of cultural, educational and business forums in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Shanghai and Manila.

The Asia Society is America’s leading institution dedicated to fostering understanding of Asia and communication between Americans and the people of Asia and the Pacific. The announced partnership offers United preferred industry status with the Asia Society, including opportunities to offer special fares and other incentives to the Asia Society’s more than 300 corporate member companies and approximately 10,000 individual members, as well as allowing United to promote and engage key customers in special events hosted by the Asia Society.

“This is an absolutely perfect match,” said Graham Atkinson, senior vice president - Worldwide Sales and Alliances, United Airlines. “United is a leader in serving the growing Asia-Pacific markets, and this region represents a critical component of our overall international route network.

“United is also a vital contributor to global connectivity - a facilitator for the flow of people, commerce and culture,” he noted. “With this partnership, we look forward to helping raise awareness among our customers about the important work of the Asia Society.”

Nicholas Platt, president of the Asia Society, said, “We are very excited about our partnership with United Airlines. United’s generous support will bring valuable benefits to our members, and it reinforces the growing importance of linking the Asia-Pacific region and the U.S. together.”
