Joa Alexander
Program Officer
Joa Alexander serves as a Program Officer with the Asia Society Policy Institute in New York. In this role, she assists in coordinating ASPI’s operations and events, while providing program and research support for the Institute’s projects.
Before joining Asia Society, Joa worked as a Researcher at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Washington, D.C. A member of the Political Section, she focused on foreign policy issues in Asia, as well as changing developments in human rights, nuclear energy, and international peace and security. Prior to that, she held roles at Manhattan Prep, The Korea Society, and the Harvard Office of International Education.
Joa received a bachelor’s degree cum laude in East Asian studies from Harvard College. During her time in university, she developed a passion for the Asia-Pacific region that took her to China, Korea, and Taiwan to volunteer, study, and teach. Her interests also led her to serve as executive board secretary of Harvard China Care and as managing editor of the Harvard Asia-Pacific Review, an undergraduate academic journal covering major issues in the Asia-Pacific region.
