Typhoon Haiyan (Philippine name: Yolanda) hit the Philippines November 8, 2013 uprooting homes, flattening towns and leaving some areas in Visayas in total devastation. Despite the preparations and pre-emptive evacuations for the typhoon, officials have expressed shock at the catastrophic destruction that was left behind.
Thousands are confirmed dead and thousands more are displaced from their homes. With stories of survivors in dire need of basic aid and the rescue and recovery process still underway, please join us for a high-level briefing on the situation, ways in which the global NGO and business community are helping, and what more is needed.
