VIEW EVENT DETAILSDesigner appearance 12:00-3:30 pm
Hodsdon Kokeshi dolls take inspiration from Japanese culture. The origin of the Kokeshi dolls dates back around 200 years, first emerging in the northeast part of Japan. Japanese-American, Lisa Hodsdon is an artist specializing in painting and design. Her husband, Jacob, has been wood-turning for many years and draws inspiration for the dolls from the natural beauty of wood. The designs for the Hodsdon's dolls blend wood selection with the use of color and interpretations from the traditional Kokeshi dolls. Each doll is a unique, one-of-a-kind signed piece. Kokeshi dolls are believed to bring prosperity and joy to any space they occupy.
