Honorary Chair
New York-based artist Michael Joo uses sculpture, performance and installation to create thoughtful and provocative artworks that touch upon identity and our perceptions of the world. He has exhibited extensively worldwide, from the Whitney Biennial to the Musee d'Art Moderne, Paris. In 2001, Joo represented South Korea at the Venice Biennale, and his installation Bodhi Obfuscatus (Space Baby) won grand prize at the 2006 Gwangju Biennial. In 2010 he opened a two-person exhibition with Damien Hirst in Berlin. He is currently preparing for an exhibition at Blain Southern Gallery opening in London this April.
