Insiders' View: The Passions and Responsibilities of the Art Collector

Join Asia Society for a discussion about the passions and responsibilities of art collection with prominent collectors Sangita Jindal, Chairperson, JSW Foundation; Rajiv Savara, Managing Director, G&T Total Energy Services; and Anurag Khanna, Director, Carbon Edge Industries. This programme will be moderated by Sandhini Poddar, Associate Curator, Guggenheim Museum, New York.

The panellists will talk about the impact of art patrons on cultural history, explore their motivations and passions in collecting art, and discuss the impulses that contribute to their decisions. The programme will also consider whether collectors have philanthropic responsibilities, including donating art to public collections, supporting cultural institutions, and providing constructive feedback to artists. This dialogue will encompass a broad view of collecting activity in the contemporary cultural moment.
