A Private Fundraising Recital Featuring Ci Sun
Pianist offers appreciative listeners 10 pieces by Chopin
HONG KONG, June 6, 2013 — President’s Circle member Ms. Ci Sun (孙慈穎) performed a private piano recital to help fundraising efforts for Asia Society Hong Kong Center. Miller Theater was packed with supporters of Asia Society and Sun in the one-hour piano recital, in which she performed ten classical Chopin pieces.
Sun is a graduate of Shanghai Conservatory and Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University and a prize winner at Montreal International Piano Competition and Washington International Competition for Piano. Born in Shanghai, Sun has appeared as a soloist and as a chamber music collaborator across Americas, Europe and Asia, at notable venues such as the Carnegie Weill Recital Hall in NYC, Kennedy Center Concert Hall in Washington D.C., Salle Pleyel in Paris, Concert Hall at National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, and Shanghai Concert Hall.
In addition to her musical talents, Sun has had successful careers in other fields. She has been with the auction house Christie's for the past two years as Senior Vice President, Client Strategy Director, Asia, based in Hong Kong. Prior to joining Christie's, she was Managing Director, Head of Wealth Management Markets, China, at UBS AG, based in Beijing.
