No Country Exhibition Opening Events
HONG KONG, October 31, 2013 - Asia Society Hong Kong Center has launched its latest exhibition No country: Contemporary Art for South and Southeast Asia exhibition on October 30. The exhibition is a part of the Guggenheim UBS MAP Global Art Initiative, a multi-year collaboration charting contemporary art practice in three geographic regions and a cultural engagement of UBS. As the first touring exhibition of the Guggenheim UBS MAP Global Art Initiative, the Hong Kong exhibition features recent work by 13 artists from Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. No Country presents some of the most challenging and inventive voices in South and Southeast Asia today.
In celebration of the exhibition’s opening, UBS, Soloman R.Guggenheim Museum and Foundation and Asia Society Hong Kong Center had hosted two evenings of red carpet events including an opening dinner on October 28 and a cocktail reception on October 29. Over 400 art lovers from Hong Kong and around the world attended the occasions that marked a successful beginning for the exhibition.
