Kingsley Ng: Twenty-Five Minutes Older
HONG KONG, March 20 – 21, 2017 - More than twenty ASHK members had the privilege to experience a unique tram ride commissioned by Art Basel and supported by MGM Resorts Art & Culture. Hong Kong artist Kingsley Ng's Twenty-Five Minutes Older transformed two of the territory’s iconic trams into moving camera obscuras, offering passengers a chance to see the city in reverse. Like travelers in time, passengers on board saw moving images of Hong Kong’s city life, accompanied by spoken extracts from Liu Yichang’s popular novella ‘Tête-bêche’. Our members had a delightful time experiencing the lights and sounds through this wonderful journey. Ng also came on board on of our tram rides to welcome our members and shared his thoughts behind this artwork. ASHK would like to express gratitude to the organizer for inviting our members to enjoy this extraordinary experience.
