It is the Asian Century — Asia’s economic rise is transforming the region and the region is now the engine of the world economy. Regional cooperation is the foundation for sustained economic growth and achieving long-term financial stability. New South Wales (NSW) is focused on building strong regional partnerships with Asia to support growth, develop regional talent hubs and create seamless financial operations. NSW has a stable and diverse economy. Sydney is the financial hub for Australia and one of five key financial centers in Asia. Its people well educated, innovative and highly productive, making it well-placed to support Asia as it restructures its economies to higher value manufacturing. Barry O’Farrell, Premier of New South Wales, will outline how NSW will work with Asia to share knowledge, address common challenges and build on collective strengths.
