The Emergence of Asia and Asia's Place in the New World Order
VIEW EVENT DETAILSOne-Day Summit Co-organized by the China Development Institute and the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute
Supported by the Asia Society Hong Kong Center
The Asia Economic Summit is an annual series focusing on various aspects of the emergence of Asia and its place in the new world order. The 6th Asia Economic Summit is particularly timely as Asia has staged a robust recovery from the global economic crisis of the past two years and now leads the world in its growth trajectory.
Can Asia's growth continue to be as buoyant as it has been in the previous quarters and in the decade preceding the Asia financial crisis? Is this growth sustainable? Will the 21st century indeed be Asia's century? What should Asia do to consolidate its gains and strengthen its recovery? What should Asian governments do to ensure continued peace, progress and prosperity? What is the role of the private sector? What are the new business and investment opportunities that await the business community? What are the key issues and strategic challenges that must be addressed?
