Schools

The International Studies Schools Network currently consists of twelve schools located in New York, Charlotte, Los Angeles, Houston, Mathis, Denver, San Antonio, and Bloomfield (CT), with plans to open two schools in Austin and New York in the next year. Twenty-five to thirty more schools will open by 2013.These schools are all dedicated to providing a rigorous, engaging internationally-focused education for primarily urban, low-income, and minority students to prepare them for college, the changing workforce, and a lifetime of learning as 21st century global citizens.

The ISSN currently is comprised of schools in the following states:



	California: International Studies Learning Center (ISLC) Vaughn International Studies Academy (VISA) Colorado: Denver Center for International Studies (DCIS) Connecticut: Metropolitan Learning Center (MLC)* New York: Henry Street School for International Studies (HSSIS) College of Staten Island High School for International Studies (CSIHSIS) North Carolina: Academy of International Studies at Independence High School (AIS) International Studies School at Garinger (ISSG) Texas: Austin Academy for Global Studies (Opening 2008) Houston Academy for International Studies (HAIS) International School of the Americas (ISA)* Mathis High School for International Studies (MHSIS) International High School at Sharpstown (IHSS) * Indicates an Anchor School. These are established schools that have joined the ISSN to share best practices.
