Work Experience and Background

He has worked for about 6 years at Intel where initially he was in the team that developed the 486 microprocessor. Subsequently he was a CPU architect in the Pentium Team.

In 1991 he returned to India and took over BPL Systems and Projects Ltd, then a company with revenue of US$ 6 Million.

Mr Chandrasekhar is presently the Chairman and Chief Executive of BPL Innovision Business Group.

Mr Chandrasekhar is:

  • An advisor to the Prime Minister on Trade & Industry
  • On the Adivsory Committee in the Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India.
  • Chairman, Karnataka Infrastructure Task Force, Government of Karnataka.

Mr Chandrasekhar has done substantial work in developing the Telecom Sector in India. He had led the industry negotiations with the Government and has assisted the Government in formulating the New Telecom Policy.

His interests range from Digital Signal Processing, Wireless Systems, the Internet, Broadband networks, New Convergent Internet Appliances etc. He is presently working on introducing into this market a totally integrated Internet suite of products and services ranging from High speed Internet access on one end to a range of consumer Internet appliances for the home and the office on the other end.
