Live Webcast : Keynote Speech by Pranab Mukherjee, India's Minister of Finance

The speech will be delivered by Pranab Mukherjee, India's Minister of Finance. With a new budget and the end of the stimulus package recently announced, and a projected return to a higher growth trajectory (especially in manufacturing and services), this is an especially interesting time to hear from Minister Mukherjee.

Prior to his current position, he was Cabinet Minister of External Affairs; Cabinet Minister of Defense; Cabinet Minister of Commerce; Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission; Cabinet Minister of Finance with additional charge of Ministry of Commerce and Supply; Cabinet Minister of Commerce and Steel & Mines; Minister of Revenue and Banking (Independent Charge); Minister of State for Finance; Deputy Minister, Shipping and Transport; and Deputy Minister, Industrial Development. In 2008 Minister Mukherjee received the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian award for his contributions to public affairs. He was on the Board of Governors at the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and the African Development Bank. Minister Mukherjee holds MAs in History and Political Science, an LLB, and a DLtt (Honoris Causa) from Vidyasagar College, Suri Calcutta University, West Bengal.
