Watch: Henry Kissinger on The Colbert Report
Henry Kissinger appeared on Comedy Central's The Colbert Report Monday night, the latest stop on his On China book tour (read a TIME review by Asia Society Associate Fellow Jeffrey Wasserstrom here). In the interview (embedded below) the controversial diplomat, who turned 88 last month, mentioned Mao Zedong's sarcastic side, said he didn't believe this was the "Chinese century" and explained why he stopped playing chess with his 8-year-old grandson. We have a feeling the tone may be a little bit different when Kissinger appears at the Asia Society Awards Dinner in Washington, D.C., tomorrow evening. He'll be in conversation with Orville Schell, Arthus Ross Director of the Asia Society's Center on U.S.-China Relations, at the annual event.
