Asia Society Australia will host a boardroom dinner briefing with H.E. Mr Yoshitaka Akimoto, Japan’s Ambassador to Australia, who will give an update on the Australia-Japan relationship.
Ambassador Akimoto is a senior career diplomat who took up his appointment as Ambassador to Australia in September 2012. His previous posting was as Chief of Protocol (Ambassador level) in Tokyo from 2010. Prior to this he was the Ambassador in charge of United Nations Affairs at the Foreign Policy Bureau. Previous overseas postings include Russia and Indonesia.
Ambassador Akimoto graduated with a law degree from the Tokyo University in 1977.
The dinner is generously sponsored by Deloitte Australia and will be held under the Chatham House Rule.
