Bohdan Hilash (Clarinet) A multi-faceted musician, clarinetist Bohdan Hilash has toured extensively in the U.S. and abroad as a performer of orchestral and chamber music, opera, contemporary music, jazz, broadway musicals, and as a soloist. Appearing at many of the world's pre-eminent concert venues and music festivals including those of Bayreuth, Spoleto, Tokyo, Evian, Lincoln Center, Rome, and Aspen. Mr. Hilash has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic and has worked with such conductors as Leonard Bernstein, Kurt Masur, Zubin Mehta and Leonard Slatkin among others. Mr. Hilash is especially active in the field of contemporary music and has given the premieres of numerous new compositions written for him in performances throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. Mr. Hilash can also be heard in projects that include jazz and ethnic music, music for radio and television, and on numerous recordings and soundtracks for feature films such as Bride of the Wind, directed by Bruce Beresford. Mr. Hilash's has also worked extensively in the theater with several leading theater directors of the New York stage including Lee Breuer and Michael Landon. He has appeared as a featured performer in productions with Mabou Mines, the Signature Theater Company, the Ridge Theater, and the Irondale Ensemble. Mr. Hilash's recordings can be heard on the RCA Victor, CRI, Mode, CCNC, Nonsuch, Chandos, Finlandia, CBC, and Koch labels.
