This portable shrine was made either for a Hindu or Sikh patron for personal worship within the home. The curved bangla roof of the shrine imitates the humble hut structure that was a staple of both Mughal and Rajput architecture. It is enameled with scrolling floral arabesques in rich shades of cobalt blue, dark indigo blue, and turquoise, with accents of white, lime green, and copper red.
