Kashmiri artists reproduced elaborate textile patterns in metal, wood, and papier-mâché objects. This created a consistency among Kashmiri luxury goods, which led to a recognizable Kashmiri style. It also strengthened their appeal in the international market. This foliated tray has few equals in its dazzling gold finish, intricacy of design, and finesse of execution. |
