Life reveals its hidden implications at unlikely
moments, and sometimes not at all. We have no reason to disbelieve the world we see
before us, but it takes a lifetime to understand its meaning. In the end, perhaps
we are not much wiser. So many seemingly trivial things, things we neither choose
nor consciously leave behind, become important. We experience dullness and defeat,
romantic nights and distant journeys. To keenly observe a world of everyday people
and places, to find those who will shape our inner spaces, is to be a walking bystander.
