| ANTONIN KRATOCHVIL was born in 1947 in Lovisice, Czechoslovakia. He has earned numerous awards including the Infinity Award from the International Center of Photography (1991), the Leica Medal of Excellence (1994), and the Alfred Eisenstadt Award (1998). His 1997 book Broken Dream presents twenty years of work documenting Eastern Europe during the Cold War. His forthcoming book entitled Mercy will be published by The Monacelli Press in 2000. |   Antonin
