Asia Society Global Council
The Global Council is a distinguished group of senior leaders from business, the arts, academia, civil society, and other sectors with deep Asian or international expertise who advise Asia Society Trustees and senior staff in the planning and program activities of Asia Society. This important group provides a unique network of high-level experts with on-the- ground experience and perspectives which serve to inform and broaden the initiatives Asia Society undertakes. Originally established in 1979, the Council is an important part of the global Asia Society network that includes Asia Society Centers and partner organizations. Membership is designed to reflect as much as possible the spectrum of interests represented in the Society itself.
Members who become office holders in their respective governments are placed "on leave for public service" for the duration of that service (their names are marked with an *).
