Asia Society’s International Studies Schools Network is looking for a research intern to conduct a literature review and help with data collection efforts. Since 2003, Asia Society has worked in partnership with school districts and charter authorities to create the International Studies Schools Network (ISSN), the first national network committed to developing college ready, globally competent high school graduates by focusing on a rigorous curriculum infused with international content across all subjects. Responsibilities: Research and literature review to support assessment of student characteristics measured in Asia Society’s International Studies School Network (ISSN) graduate profile. Develop an interview protocol (with assistance) that can be asked of ISSN students. If we get permissions arranged, conduct these interviews over the summer via focus group and telephone (or online tool like Survey Monkey). Transcribe interviews, compile data.
Qualifications: Upper-level undergraduate or graduate student with interest in research and education. Asia Society will provide specific instruction on literature review process. University affiliation preferred.
Schedule: Available for research and survey work 5-10 hours per week (5 hours is a required minimum), with a total project estimate of 100-150 hours over the course of the months of June – August. Some work can be done outside Asia Society offices with accountability for specific time frame and progress (required one day/week check in and updates at the office).
